Personal
Dr. Terance McDermott was born and raised in the state of South Dakota, USA and graduated from the University of Iowa School of Dentistry, Iowa City, Iowa.
He worked in school dental clinics for children in Norway and in Zürich and later for adults in the Canton Zürich Dental Clinic, affiliated with the University of Zürich Dental School. Prosthetic reconstruction was the emphasis of this clinic.
Two years were spent in oral surgery training at the University of Freiburg Dental School in Freiburg i. Breisgau, Germany and three more years in the Department of Periodontology, Cariology and Preventive Dental Medicine at the University of Zürich. Here periodontal treatment and again reconstructive therapy were major interests. A research paper was written for the Dr.med.Dent title at this time. He was also clinical instructor for students during this period.
After years of private practice with Dr. Michaela Wally, Dr. McDermott enrolled at the University of Zürich at the Dental School and completed his exams, the Eidgenoessische Medizinalpruefung for the Swiss Confederation Dental Diploma.
He opened his own dental practice in Zürich in October, 2009.
